New Year. New Me. Hello 2020! I couldn’t begin to tell you how made New Year’s Resolutions I’ve made and broken. Eat better, save money, lose weight, go to bed early, be kinder, more sympathetic, more generous, etc., etc. Emotional or physical it doesn’t really matter. At one time or another they’ve been promised and broken. Why? It’s because on the surface, a promise to oneself is merely lip service. You’ve got to get to the underlying reason in order to commit to something better for yourself. The best way to consider a new resolution is to start with the premise that you are enough. Fall in love with yourself first. The good, the bad, and the ugly. From there anything that you choose to do or add to your untamed and cherished life is the cherry on top of the “already” you! ? No matter how you are entering this new calendar season. Whether dashing across the finish line from the brightest place or on your hands and knees crawling in surrender. You’re enough and all that you’ve become is beautiful already. Think about it, the cherries are mostly there for decoration anyway ?

Offer yourself grace as you ponder resolutions. Be easy and gentle about them. Like a newborn baby learning to walk, they usually don’t start out in a run or sprint. They wobble, fall down, but always get back up. Just like us in a new season of life. There are lessons to be learned. Find a quiet space to be creative and listen to what the universe is saying to you. Our first steps shouldn’t be the biggest ones, it’s the consistency that wins the race. (In skin care too ?)
